Privacy Policy

Pacific Life Re International Limited, Korea Branch (“Company”) complies with the Personal Information Protection Act and related laws, lawfully processes personal information, and manages it securely. In accordance with Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act, the Company establishes and discloses this privacy policy to inform data subjects of procedures and standards for processing and protecting personal information, and to promptly and smoothly handle related complaints.

Article 1 (Purpose of Processing Personal Information)
  • Employee recruitment and HR management
  • Administrative processing of job applications and recruitment tasks
  • Execution and maintenance of employment contracts, issuance of employment certificates, post-hire personnel management (recruitment, promotion, compensation, evaluation, labor, rewards and penalties), work allocation (department transfer, assignment, relocation), handling of welfare matters such as base salary, bonuses, medical insurance, and leave to maintain and improve efficiency in employee management
  • Payment of income tax and other taxes
  • Enrollment in statutory insurance such as the four major insurances, compliance with the Labor Standards Act and other employment-related laws, provision of equal treatment and opportunities, compliance with laws related to foreign workers, and fulfillment of legal and administrative obligations imposed on the Company
  • Issuance of employment certificates for retirees
  • Inquiry of credit transaction information, credit capability information, credit rating, etc.
  • Activities to improve, maintain, and enhance the efficiency of company management
  • Processing of domestic and overseas business trip reservations and management of group insurance for employees
  • The Company does not receive personal information from clients that can identify policyholders.
Article 2 (Personal Information Items Processed)
  • Personal information (name, address, gender, occupation, phone number, mobile number, email address, family relationship)
  • Physical/health-related matters
  • Disability information (status, type, grade)
  • Academic information (admission date, graduation date, school name, location, graduation status, major)
  • Family information (relationship, name, resident registration number, academic background, graduation status, cohabitation status, medical insurance, workplace, position)
  • Qualification information (details, grade, acquisition date, validity date)
  • Career information (employment period, workplace, department, position, income, duties)
  • Dependent information (relationship, name, acquisition/loss date of dependent status, code, disability, foreign nationality)
  • Salary payment information (bank and account number)
  • Resident registration number, passport number, foreign registration number, dependent’s resident registration number: These unique identifiers are processed as required by law for the execution and maintenance of employment contracts.
Article 3 (Processing and Retention Period of Personal Information)
  • The Company processes and retains personal information within the period specified by law or agreed upon by the data subject at the time of collection.
  • Employee information under Article 2: Unless otherwise required by law, personal information is destroyed without delay once the purpose of processing is achieved. For job applicants who are not hired, information is retained until the hiring decision is made.
Article 4 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)
  • The Company provides personal information to third parties only within the scope specified in Article 1, with the consent of the data subject, and only to the minimum extent necessary.
  • Personal information may be provided to institutions for HR management, insurance enrollment, legal compliance, business trip reservations, expense payments, and finance-related tasks. Details of recipients, purposes, items provided, and retention periods are specified in the document.
Article 5 (Entrustment and Overseas Transfer of Personal Information)
  • The Company entrusts personal information processing to third parties for efficient operations.
  • Entrusted parties include Vistra (payroll and tax management), First Advantage Japan Corp. (reference checks), and others.
  • Overseas transfers are made to Pacific Life Re International Limited UK Branch, Singapore Branch, Pacific Life Corporation (USA), L’Tria Private Limited (Singapore), Singapore Counselling Centre (Singapore), with details on items transferred, countries, methods, purposes, and retention periods provided.
  • Refusal to consent to overseas transfer may make it impossible to maintain or execute the employment contract.
Article 6 (Rights of Data Subjects and How to Exercise Them)
  • Data subjects may request access, correction, deletion, suspension, or withdrawal of their personal information at any time via written request, email, or fax. The Company will promptly respond. Requests may also be made by legal representatives or authorized agents with proper documentation.
Article 7 (Destruction of Personal Information)
  • Personal information is destroyed without delay when the retention period expires or the processing purpose is achieved. If continued retention is required by law, information is stored separately. Electronic files are deleted irrecoverably, and paper documents are shredded or incinerated.
Article 8 (Measures to Ensure Security of Personal Information)
  • The Company takes the following measures to ensure the security of personal information:
  • Administrative: Regular staff training
  • Technical: Access control, installation of security programs, encryption
  • Physical: Access control to computer rooms
Article 9 (Remedies for Infringement of Rights)
  • Data subjects may seek dispute resolution or counseling from the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee, Personal Information Infringement Reporting Center, the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office, or the National Police Agency.
Article 10 (Personal Information Protection Officer)
  • The Company designates a Personal Information Protection Officer responsible for overall personal information management and handling complaints.
